Chinese Lunar New Year at Hackney Bridge 🧧🏮

A community celebration of Hackney’s East Asian communities and cultures featuring a spectacular variety of performances, musicians, Southern lions, costumes, Chinese dragons, family craft, workshops and food stalls.

🕐: 1pm – 4pm

Rundown of timings below:

1pm Mayor Speech and Hackney Bridge Speaker– welcome and celebrate the year of the snake (out doors) Host by Jun Mo Generations the 3 rd year.

1.05: 2 x Lion Dance lucky ceremony and Dragon performance

1.20:  Councillors speech – Speak about heritage Asian culture and arts in Hackney (indoors to open the performances)

1.25: Lion Dance upstairs and around lower floor

1.35: Chinese ethnic dancers – New Year dance

1.45: Jun Mo Wing Chun martial arts first form and 2nd form as music is played using Asian traditional Musical instruments by Jun Mo

1.50 Jun Mo Wing Chun Wooden Dummy demo

Announce craft sessions starts for children in room near to entrance

2.00pm: Ethnic dancers Bell Dance

2.05: Louis – 2 x song

2.10: Chinese Instruments – Chinese Traditional instruments – golden snake dance song

2.15: Chinese Elderly Dancers – Umbrella

2.20: Lion Dance and dragon
